History of ISKCON Temple Bangalore
The total area of ISKCON temple, Bangalore is around 7 acres. Initially, the Iskcon devotees started worshipping deities Sri Krishna and Balaram from a rented apartment in Bangalore. This was in 1978 when the ISKCON was set up in Bangalore. Later, in the year 1988, the devotees' group acquired the 7 acres of land of Hare Krishna Hill, Chord Rd. Then they started construction of the temple in 1990 and the work was finished by 1997.
The work of the temple was initiated and monitored by the then president of ISKCON, Bangalore Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa. When the constitution work was done, the deity installation work began which was called the Prana Pratishtha. This took a total of 45 days as per the Agama Shastras. Finally, on May 31, 1997, the ISKCON Radha Krishna Temple was inaugurated by the Hon'ble President of India, Dr Shankar Sayal Sharma. (Source)
