Why Will Bangalore Be Unlivable by 2025? Bangalore Future Problems

Why Will Bangalore Be Unlivable by 2025?

Banglore is considered as the fastest-growing city in the world. From Garden City to Silicon Valley of India, its transformation has been just amazing adding up to the economy. Earlier the city was known for its beautiful lakes, cool climate, and other factors - but it has all changed with time. The city is no longer considered to be an ideal option where one could live. Wondering why? Well, then here are a few reasons that will help you to know why Bangalore will become unlivable by the year 2025.

  • Bangalore Traffic

Bangalore has been ranked as the second most congested city in the world and this title cannot be ignored.  One of the reasons that makes the city unlivable is this. The traffic is a reason that you cannot ignore or cut through in case of any emergency like being in the ambulance. Nevertheless, the traffic jam in Bangalore is expected to increase by 2025 causing more trouble to the locals.

  • Drainage System

Just after one rain or one centimetre of rainfall, the entire roads of the city get blocked, being covered with water. There are many areas in Bangalore which are reported to face floods like Agara, Ibbalur, Mahadevapura, Nagara, and more. The water problem in Bangalore has seen no improvement or changes over the decades.

  • Lakes Depletion

There are around 189 lakes present in Bangalore that includes both natural and man-made lakes. Each of the lakes served a purpose to the city and its people. However, everything has changed ever since the last few decades. There are polluted lakes in Bangalore present that are really in poor condition. One of the lakes namely Bellandur Lake even caught fire because of the layer of toxic substances formed. However, due to public efforts, some of the lakes have been revived.

  • Insufficient Public Transport

Besides the Pollution in Bangalore, another factor that has caused the city to become unlivable is this. There is insufficient connectivity between major locations because of insufficient public transport. Chances are you may never discover a decent transit system. There is even a lack. of metro facilities in some areas of the city. If you want to reach somewhere on time, you may need to purchase your own automobile.

  •  Water Crisis

There is no planning in the city to meet the water needs as its growth appears to be exponential. The only water supply that supports the entire city is the Kaveri Water which is also shared by two other states. Bangalore government does not seem to be interested in looking into this matter or putting efforts to adapt rainwater harvesting as a solution. Moreover, the underground water quality is really poor and contaminated which is not fit for drinking at all.

  • Commercially Ideal

Though Bangalore was perfect for residents before - everything is changing with time. The city had great parks, lakes, less population, and other basic amenities that one needed to survive. But now there is little to no regard for the environment as the urban attitude has transformed into commercialism. It is no more the same Bangalore which was once praised and appreciated for its abundance of natural beauty.
