Places to Visit near Yediyur Bangalore

The neighbourhood of Yediyur has a picturesque setting and offers lots of activities and adventures for its visitors. Here are some of them-    


  1. Lalbagh Botanical Garden 

The Government Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a place known both nationally and internationally for conserving plants, carrying out scientific studies on plants and a centre for botanical artwork. It has an area of 240 acres and is located at the heart of the city of Bangalore and is home to around 1,854 plant species of French, Persian and Afghani origin and more. It was the creation of the great Hyder Ali back in 1760, ultimately completed by his great son Tippu Sultan. Another major attraction that lies in this garden is the Lal Bagh Rock which is over 3000 million years old. 

Location - Lalbagh Main Road, Mavalli, Bangalore - 560004 (Near Urvashi Theatre)

Timings - Mon – Sun 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Entry Fee - 20 per person for adults. Free entry for children below 12 years


  1. The Bull Temple

This is one of the oldest and biggest temples in Bengaluru city dedicated to Nandi Maharaj. Lord Shiva sits on top of Nandi Maharaj and is his 'Vahana'. he also guards the abode of Lord Shiva, the Kailashagiri. The temple is otherwise known as 'Dodda Basavana Gudi' locally and is a must-go place for all the Shiva devotees. 

Location - No.28, 3rd Cross, Bull Temple Road, NR Colony, Basavanagudi, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560004

Timings - 06:00 AM to 09:00 PM (Mon-Sun)

  1. Bugle Rock Park 

Over a span of a few thousand years, the central rock of this park has taken its shape. This place has regular visitors all through the year apart from the scientists and regular geologists. You can enjoy an aerial view of the city of Bengaluru.     

Location - WHV9+3QM, Bull Temple Rd, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560019

Timings - 05:00 AM to 10:00 AM; 3.30 PM to 9 PM (Sun, Mon, Thursday, Friday)

    Saturday (5 AM to 10 AM; 4 PM to 9 PM)

                Tuesday (10 AM to 1.30 PM)

                Wednesday (6 AM to 5 PM)

  1. Ranga Shankara 

Are you an ardent lover of theatre and enjoy live drama shows? If yes, then this is the place for you. Located in JP Nagar, you will be able to enjoy some of the best drama shows from all over the globe. This place is not only rich culturally but also affordable to all and enjoy an amazingly enriching time there. 

Location – 36/2, 8th Cross Rd, R K Colony, 2nd Phase, J. P. Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560078

Entry Fee – Rs 500 


  1. Ragigudda Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Temple 

This temple is the abode of Lord Hanuman and was built in 1972. A linga of Lord Shiva is worshipped here apart from the deity of Lord Hanuman. The beautiful shrines of Shri Ram, Sita Maiya and Shri Lakshman are also there. The temple has an area of five acres and has a beautiful water tank or Pushkarini, an auditorium, a Prasad section, and an amphitheatre. It has a magnificent hilltop view and has an artificial waterfall on its premises.

Timings – 8 AM to 11.30 AM; 5 PM to 8 PM (Mon-Fri) / 8 AM to 12.30 PM; 5 PM – 8.30 PM)
