Being a renowned location to visit in Bangalore, it houses both the state secretariat as well as state legislature under one roof. Its foundation was laid in 1951 by the former minister Jawahar Lal Nehru alongside former chief minister KC Reddy and finished in the year 1956. The structure incorporates elements of British, Dravidian and Indo-Islamic architecture. People visit this place frequently as it is also known as "The Taj Mahal of South India".
