In the year 2018, the Karnataka State Forest Department was given the responsibility to maintain Agara Lake. But soon enough in the year 2019, the responsibility of maintenance of the lake was given to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Currently, they are the managing committee of the lake. But several issues started to pop up as this organisation is failing in responsibilities to keep the lake clean and environment friendly.
